A Quick Update from the Nelsons

The autumn has been busy here in Boston. We've been out and about a fair amount and have been even busier with activities at church and around town. We have finally started to make a few friends at church, which has been a huge blessing. We're also very busy teaching Sunday School about once a month, serving as hosts for Fellowship time, taking a marriage class, and teaching second graders on Friday nights.

Ruby has really thrived in her activities (story time at the library, Community Bible Study, MOPS, and swimming lessons). She's a little fish and will be starting classes without Mommy this Friday.

Max will be starting swimming lessons with me in her place. I think the experience will be a bit different with him as he isn't that crazy about the water and tends to get cold quickly. Hopefully taking this class with him will help him to enjoy the water more. Max has been pushing his limits a lot lately with biting, screaming, hitting, you name it. He doesn't seem to mean to harm anyone, but just has so much energy he doesn't know what to do with it. By nine o'clock this morning I had already changed his outfit after he dumped Ruby's chocolate milk all over himself, cleaned up purple paint that was EVERYWHERE thanks Ruby leaving the craft drawer open for Max to get into, and repaired the television cable which had been ripped out of the wall by his sticky little fingers. It's pretty wild around here!

Yesterday Jared went to a job fair in Boston where he was able to hob nob with some HR folks from various pharmaceutical companies. They all seemed to think that he was a great candidate, but he heard time and time again that it isn't really about qualifications, but networking. So, he's trying to make some connections at this point and hopefully will be able to get his foot in the door somewhere in the near future. Our lease is up in January and we'd really LIKE to move somewhere else at that point, but we'll just have to see what happens. With the exception of the distance from church, I really love our location--we're close to downtown Melrose and this is a very nice little town with a lot to offer. We'd both like to be paying less for rent, but I'm not sure that's even possible.

We covet your prayers for all of this and will be praying for each of you too! I'd love to read more updates from you all when you have a chance to post. Love you!

I can see it is happening to you Bethany. The swimming lessons, the terror of young hands that tirelessly get into things, the kids church activities, you are being set up for tears at graduations and weddings. You would think sometimes you should say, "I'll never do this again" but in some ways its true and you miss it. Strange. We definitely will be praying for Jared's employment change and the potential move. God knows and he will provide. UT
