Finally, my first post!!! You all have done such a great job with this blog . . . I am VERY impressed. Keep 'em coming (and lets see a post from some more new people . . . yeah, you know who you are!)
After Dan's funeral, the girls went through about a billion pictures . . . and then came the slides! I guess you're all well aware that slides were the Armstrong medium of choice, and boy are there a bunch of them.
So we brought this box of a couple thousand (?) slides back to Massachusetts and got a high-resolution scanner that is capable of converting slides to good quality digital images. I've really had a ball going through these old memories that I was never a part of and getting to peek into my wife's childhood and the "good old days" of her loved ones. I'd like to say I will post my favorites weekly, but I won't make any promises I can't keep :) But for now, I'll include a few of my favorites so far. Enjoy!
Diggin' for gold . . . Wouldn't you know it, Ruby does this, too!

these are great pictures...but why the curlers...she had curly hair? Guess it will forever be a mystery.
Grandma told me that Mom would put those big curlers in to straighten her hair! Or at least I guess they would produce big waves instead of kinky, wild, unpredictable curls. (Yes, I'm speaking as one who knows!) I, on the other hand have chosen to embrace the curls! A dab of gel and I'm good to go!
If I didn't know better, I would have guessed that was Christina under those curlers. Amazing!
