Prayer Alert!

Hello everyone!  If you haven't noticed, I'm finally back over at my blog.  Things have been very busy around here--moving twice in three months will do that to you!  We are finally in our home though and really enjoying painting and sprucing things up.  We've also made time for fun too--lots of great hiking and such around here.

I did want to update everyone on Alyssa's progress with her pregnancy.  I talked to her last Saturday and she was very concerned about the ultrasound that she had had the day before.  For more details, here are some snippets from emails I've received from her since that conversation:

"Well, we could use a lot of prayer right now.  Yesterday i spoke with a friend from church...she is an American that works for the Ministry of Health and is a RN.  I explained the situation to her about the Ultrasound emphasising that the picture was very bad.  She said that she would be very worried if it was her and that we should go to a pediatric specialist for a more detailed test I forgot what it was called.  We may need to go to Johannesburg to get this test done.  In the meantime we have been trying to get a different ultrasound here in Mozambique, but every clinic is telling us that they don't accept our Insurance Company anymore....which is wonderful news.  Anyways...we're trying not to worry, but I also don't want to pretend that nothing is wrong.  We shall see.  The condition that the baby might have is called Dextrocardia...I've been doing a lot of research on it and if all of the organs are switched the baby could be fine, but the problem with this defect is that there are usually other problems associated with Dextrocardia. I'll let you know as soon as we find something out!"

"...just to give you an update...my Doctor called me last night to tell me that I still have e-coli. Since he called, I decided to ask him if I should get another Ultrasound or this more specialized exam.  He was actually very surprised that I asked that.  He said that the baby is really showing all signs of being a normal baby.  He said that even though we thought we may have seen something, it's really too early to say anything for sure. That made me feel a lot better.  My next appointment is June 24, so we will be able to tell more then. Thanks for all the prayers!!"

God is good and we trust that He will care for Alyssa, Claudio and this little baby.  But, please join us in prayer, especially that Alyssa and Claudio would have peace about the situation and that the baby would be healthy and safe.

Thank you, Bethany, for keeping us informed. As we have seen many times, God is good, faithful and provides what we need when we need it. We come up short in the trust in the stress but if we persevere, he will see him in all. We love you and are glad you are settling in. I'll give you a call soon.
