Mad City Armstrongs

I am sure that there are several questions that you have been wondering about the Armstrongs in WI…..Are we empty nesters yet? Have we done any camping this summer? Does Lesa still have a job? Is Brett Favre really leaving the Green Bay Packers? Okay, you probably weren’t wondering about the last question, but it is huge news here in Madison. We have spent several anniversaries at Lambeau Field and loved it!
Well, we are not quite empty nesters yet. Clint had a one day orientation program last weekend. He found out that he will be living in Wengatz Hall. The largest guy dorm on campus and some say the “wildest”. He is thrilled. We take him down August 22 for the start of the semester. Grant just finished up summer school at Taylor. He will be “home” a few days before college starts again. He lives in Sammy Hall. He just recently found out that he has been accepted to go to Ecuador for the spring semester this upcoming school year. His passport has more stamps in 3 years than most adult’s entire life.
We have been able to do some camping this summer. We took a camping trip for the 4th of July weekend. It was at a state park near the Mississippi River. Tom got in some fly fishing every morning. We enjoyed some hiking and mostly just relaxed. We have our annual church campout set in a couple of weeks. This should be fun. It’s only a couple of hours north. It is at a Methodist Church Camp on a lake.
Second interviews have started already. Mine is set for Wed, July 30 at 2:45…. Both positions have the same manager so it will be a long interview. I won’t hear anything one way or another for almost 2 wks.
Tom has been putting in some long hours at work. They said that he might be making some trips to Iowa office to help due to the recent flooding. So we will see. He has a tan that makes him look like Claudio’s real brother.
Well that is a quick update from Madison. Oh, if I knew about Brett Favre I would let you know, but your guess is as good as mine.
I also want to encourage you to add a quick update…I promise it will always bring a smile to someone face to read what’s happening in your life. It truly was unfortunate what happened in April to all of us; however, it was so wonderful to spend time with all of the Armstrongs…it was wonderful reconnecting again.

We'll keep praying about the job situation, especially next Wednesday.

By the way, I think it's pretty cool that you put a sign up with your name at your campsite. Do you walk around to your neighbors to meet them too? :)

Love you guys!!

Grant made the sign in a 7th grade shop class. he thought since a lot of people have them camping we should to..so we have always used it. It is a good way for people to know who we are.
